I turned on the A/C. The compressor literally takes half my power.

That's perfectly normal... what you like more? Sweaty armpits and incredible times on the quarter mile, or just being nice and dry? You simply need to make your choice...

Install second engine
Mate output shaft to A/C Compressor
Problem;Solved
Now instead of half the power, you'll have double the fuel consumption. Oh well, can't have it all.

What do you drive?

Direct conditioned air into the intake for a super-cold-air intake. 200% power increase.

man I know that feel, towing this weekend the A/C button was my "xtra pwr" button on the steeper climbs. Fortunately it wasn't too hot.

Pfffft. You think you lose a lot of power? I used to DD an A/C equipped Metro. It had 65hp, with the air on it was more like 50.

reminds me of those mods where people had a brass sphere with some refrigerant pumped through it to cool the intake air
Edit: found it... http://m.summitracing.com/parts/dei-0801…

Half? Are you air conning a whole house or something?

It's easier to just pour a little freon into the gas tank.

It had 65 hp new. Not it probably has 50 hp, or 40 with the ac on.
